Mindy is from Abington, Pennsylvania and earned her B.S. in Chemistry in 2015 and M.S. in Forensic Science in 2016 from Arcadia University. Her undergraduate/Master’s research focused on method development of an extraction protocol for an abortifacient from blood. During her Master’s program, Mindy interned at the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education as a forensic chemist where she identified drugs from powders/botanical substances, performed arson analysis, and worked on a research project extracting dextromethorphan from cough syrup. After graduation, she worked as a summer intern at NMS Labs in Willow Grove, PA for the GC-Screening department where she performed routine drug screening analysis on toxicological samples by GC-MS and LC-MS/MS. Mindy is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Chemistry as a fourth year student in Dr. Halámek’s lab.
